Please check the amplifier, there are 2 buttons that control volume, one button is volume up, the other volume down. Depress the volume up button until desired audio level is obtained.
Make sure nothing will contact these buttons when you install the amplifier.

The Amplifier does not work at all seems to be not getting power.

How are the speakers mounted?

They can be mounted many different ways, including mounting them with the mirror brackets, or the riser bolts. They can be mounted off the windshield brackets. The L bracket that comes with the speakers can be modified to fit many different applications.

Is the Amp Waterproof?

No the amp is not waterproof, and is made to disconnect easily so you can put it away when parked or when raining. Mount the amp in a protected area behind the windshield. The amp can be splashed with a little bit of water, but not submerged.

Can I use these speakers with a standard car radio?

Yes you can, just cut the speaker wires and wire direct to any radio or player.

How does it hook up to my Audio device?

Our system is complete with an adapter wire that plugs into the standard earphone jack that most all audio devices have.

Speakers are not very loud.

Make sure the volume control on the audio device is turned up, some of the new MP3 players and Sat. Radios have an internal volume control that is only accessible through the devices menu. Larger amps are available to make the speakers even louder.

I wired the Amp to my battery but there is no power to the amp and the light is not on.

Check the fuse on the positive wire and replace it if broken.

When I start up my bike, the fuse blows..

Obtain a slightly larger amp fuse, your bike is probably putting out more that 13 volts when running.

I have noise in the speakers from the engine.

If you experience sound distortion caused by engine interference when your bike is running, you can easily and affordably install a Ground Loop Isolator commonly referred to as a Noise Filter. Noise Filters can be purchased at most electronic stores and there are many different ways to wire it on your bike. This Filter greatly attenuates electrical noise or whine produced by some motorcycle electrical/ignition systems. Engine noise may occur on older bikes and normally not an issue on newer bikes.

Also, before you buy a Noise Filter and if you are using the remote control switch that comes with the DWG Speakers, try mounting the remote and wire away from the engine and or spark plugs or any electronic equipment on your bike. To test before you mount, just hold the remote near the engine with the speakers on and slowly move the remote away and listen as your noise will disappear.

On some bikes where the speakers are picking up some interference or noise from the engine or motor, it may be necessary to increase the shielding around the speaker wires and or the power wires.  To do this simply purchase some metal type tape from a local hardware store.  Use it to shield the speaker wires.  Cover the speaker wires with the metal tape.  If noise persists, you will need to shield the positive and negative wires as well.

I installed a noise filter along with my amplified speakers but still get a humming noise and low volume from the speakers. How can I troubleshoot?

A hum is indicative of a bad ground – typically the signal ground. Try double-checking the signal ground from your stereo player, including all black leads connecting the player to the speakers. If the problem persists, you may have installed the speakers at a weak ground point. To remedy, try jumping a wire from the bike's negative battery terminal to the mounting bolt of each speaker. If this results in increased volume, you may need to wire in a better ground.

Amp seems very hot.

The amplifier will get hot, this is normal especially during very warm summer days without the bike moving. Once air is flowing over the amp it is considerably cooler.

What should I use to clean the speakers?

You should use only a mild soap and plain water like dishwashing liquid. Do not use chemicals or chrome cleaner on them as they may discolor!

I am playing music and it was coming out very loud. I turned the knob and it didn’t change at all. How can I troubleshoot?

Please double check all wiring and make sure plugs are seated and the audio cable (male headphone jack on each end) is plugged firmly into the amplifier and audio device. The silicone cover on the end of the amplifier may be in the way keeping the jack from plugging in all the way. Try plugging this wire in while the music is playing so you can hear if it changes the sound. Even try it with the silicone cover off.

There is a 3 position tiny filter switch on the end of the amplifier, try all 3 settings while the music is playing. Check the volume control on the amplifier, it should be turned up and then the remote volume control can be turned up. Also test another audio device, some audio devices have internal volume controls and speaker settings, even equalizers so you can fine tune the sound.

Music plays thru the amp but it is not amplified. How can I troubleshoot?

Test the amplifier while the music is playing and both speakers are plugged in push the on/off switch on the amplifier on and off several times using a little bit more force than normal, do this with the volume controls (turn knob & slide switches several times) and all switches and filters. Sometimes a speck of dust or a molecule of oil may make the electrical contacts weak.

If this does not work, please reseat the plug in wires and move the connections around just a little to insure good contact at the wire plugs. DO all this with the music playing so that you can tell if you find the problem. Double check your wiring!

My audio wire is not long enough. What should I do?

A longer wire can be purchased at Radio Shack or any audio store and some hardware stores. You will need a Phono Club Coupler to connect the two wires together. Although not always necessary, you can run black tape around the connectors so they are secure and free of moisture.

My speakers are plugged into the amp and the amp is turned on but one speaker appears to not be working. What should I do?

Only on a rare occasion, there may be a small piece of dust stuck inside the input hole which caused the plug not to make contact. This could happen with installs when the amp comes into contact with dirt from the bike or the amp is laying on the ground. Also, check your audio wire and/or try a new audio wire. Brand new audio wires can go bad so you may need to replace it.

My speakers are popping. Why?

I installed my system and heard popping noises coming from my speakers. The problem is with the remote phone cable wire that comes from the amp. Because it's unshielded phone cable, it can pick up any interference and transmit it. Even with it not being plugged into the remote box, if it's near some type of voltage it will pick it up and transmit it. To fix the problem, reroute the remote cable away from the engine and ignition and any other sensors on the bike. You can also buy some Plastic Wire Conduit at any auto story and feed the wire through it for added protection.

What should I set my Crossover Filter Switch (L-OFF-H) to my Amp?

(L) - Low Pass Filter lets the bass thru and no highs.
(H) - High Pass Filter lets the highs thru and no bass.
(OFF) - This is the most common setting and allows all frequencies from your audio device to pass through the Amp.

My Wireless remote does not work at all or intermittently.

Check the battery inside the remote, remove and replace. Note: Some WI-FI areas (Wireless Router for Internet sharing) may interfere with the wireless remote signal. Please test the wireless remote in an area not in a WI-FI zone.
